Liv Tyler: 'My Mom Taught Me to Watch Out for Men'

Liv Tyler's mom Bebe Buell always taught her daughter to be cautious about men -- because of her mom's own reputation of being a “rock groupie.”

Liv Tyler said: “My mom taught me to watch out for men. Be careful when they tell you things. She was never a man basher. She just wanted me to be aware of what may be said and done.

“My mom had a reputation which was simply untrue. She was often described as a rock groupie but in fact she is a very moral person who is in love with music.”

However, despite her mother’s advice on the intentions of men, Liv admitted she is still a romantic at heart.

She said: “I’m a sucker for romance. Flowers and champagne or dinner being cooked for me.”

The 33-year-old star -- who has a six-year-old son Milo with ex-husband Royston Langdon -- also admitted she has never been interesting in partying and would rather spend her money on her home.

She explained to The Sun newspaper: “My mom was my manager for a time and was very careful about who I went with and who I met. I’m an old fashioned woman, I didn’t go to parties and get off with men. I spent my money on furniture rather than on nights out.”

Liv Tyler Loved Watching Dad Steven On “American Idol”

Even though Kid Rock was disappointed in Steven Tyler for accepting the judging gig on ‘American Idol‘, there’s one person who couldn’t be more proud of him: daughter Liv Tyler.

“I was so excited. I’ve never really watched ‘American Idol’ – I had seen it once or twice. I just watched with my girlfriends at home the other night and I had goose bumps for an hour-and-a-half and laughed and loved it! I thought it was really special. I think they hit something amazing with the combination [of judges] that they’ve got.”

When asked if her dad is always so funny, Liv says:

Yeah, he’s very funny. He’s really good at the weird sayings that just come out of his mouth out of nowhere all the time.
“Trying to translate his texts are really funny. I’m like, ‘Whoa!’… and all in capital letters, but I understand exactly what he’s talking about. It’s funny.”

Celebrities turned out to support Charlize Theron at her 2010 Annual Charlize Theron African Outreach project dinner held at The Darby restaurant.

Charlize and Liv Tyler were very huggy and happy as they laughed it up on the red carpet together. I am loving Liv’s look here! It’s so fun! And Charlize looks absolutely stunning, as always. She reportedly auctioned off a date with herself as part of the fundraising efforts. She agreed to attend the Lakers game with whomever won the tickets being auctioned off if they donated an extra $20,000.


Jon Hamm and his girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, and Petra Nemcova were also in attendance.

Charlize’s organization strives to help at-risk children and communities in South Africa, with a focus on AIDS/HIV. Charlize, who is a native of South Africa, has been a part of this initiative since 2007.

This week, simplicity is the word I would use to describe the ten best dressed. Many of the outfits are put together with very basic pieces (many in the colours black, white and grey) with few, but unique accessories. I often find these outfits the most inspiring, as they often open up for a lot of unexpected inspiration and gives you different ideas to add to your own style, instead of just being a copy cat.
